: A nursing school is a type of educational institution, or part thereof, providing education and training to become a fully qualified nurse. The nature of nursing education and nursing qualifications varies considerably across the world. Pre-requisites often include math, English, and other basic level courses. Basic courses in biology, anatomy and physiology are required. Core coursework includes anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology. Additionally, a strong emphasis is placed on procedural education such as insertion of intravenous and urinary catheters, sterile dressing changes, proper administration of medications, physical examinations, caring bedside manner, and other vital skills. After the first semester basic skills are obtained, students rotate through Obstetrics, Mental Health, Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Critical Care and Pediatric Units to get a holistic view of nursing and what it encompasses. Many nursing students and nursing schools use medical and healthcare educational software as a study or training aid.
Clinical Solutions Acls: Each of the specialties in medicine has established its own curriculum, which defines the length and content of residency training necessary to practice in that specialty. Programs range from three years after medical school for internal medicine to five years for surgery to seven to eight years for neurosurgery. This does not include research years that may last from one to four years if a Ph.D. degree is pursued. Each specialty training program either incorporates an internship year to satisfy the requirements of state licensure, or stipulates that an internship year be completed before starting the program at the second post-graduate year (PGY-2).
In the past, one day of on the job training was sufficient for serving as a phlebotomist. Now, states require either a high school degree or equivalent in addition to about 40 hours of training and certification. Each state has different requirements so be sure to check local requirements. Individuals interested in the challenge and responsibility of this career path have multiple options to receive their phlebotomist training. A phlebotomy certificate can be earned through different sources including career schools, community colleges, hospitals, clinics, and online courses.

Sodium stibogluconate is exceedingly phlebotoxic. One of the practical problems is that after a few doses it can become exceedingly difficult to find a vein in which to inject the drug. The insertion of a PICC does not prevent the problem and can instead make it worse: the entire vein along the course of the PICC line can become inflamed and thrombose. The most practical way of administering a large dose of sodium stibogluconate is to dilute it in a large amount of fluid which then runs through over half an hour or so.Cardiac care nurses work with patients who suffer from both acute and chronic heart conditions, including heart disease. Although cardiac care nurses treat patients of all ages, the most common are older adults who suffer from common cardiovascular diseases like high blood pressure, coronary heart disease or stroke. Instrumental to the prevention and treatment of these cardiovascular diseases are early intervention, diagnosis, care management and education, and these are often the primary responsibilities of a cardiac care nurse.
: This advance course builds on basic EMT training and helps prepare students for certification as a paramedic. Individuals learn how to administer intravenous fluids, perform advanced airway management techniques and utilize defibrillators and other cardiac devices to control heart rate. Students are taught how to administer medications. This course also provides an overview of EMT operations.
